Outside blinds are stylish, practical and versatile. The fabrics are specially manufactured for outside blinds to operate in an external environment and are available in many colours. We would usually think of an awning covering a patio with a table and chairs. This is only one of several situations where outside blinds can provide shelter from the heat and glare of the sun.
The folding arm awning is what you would normally fit to provide shelter over the patio to extend your living space into your garden. Folding arm or drop arm awnings are also fitted to shop fronts. When constructed with a cassette the fabric is stored safely out of inclement weather during the winter. Manual operation is an option but it is more usual for awnings to be fitted with electric motors operated by remote control.
Dutch style Canopies and Drop Arm Awnings are designed to provide external shading for windows. When fitted they give more efficient protection by preventing the heat and ultra violet light from entering the room. They are the lightest of the outside blinds and will normally be manually operated using a cord or hand crank.
Outside Blinds and Awnings are robustly constructed and may be fitted into brick, concrete or steel. Most blinds can be fitted by the practical and enthusiastic person with reasonable DIY skills.
